.Twitter: There is actually minimal content overlap here, and we will retweet Pokemon and Pearlshipping stuff you guys might find interesting, and there are also some Japanese fanartists that post their work on twitter, which we will retweet. Oh yes, we also post anime screenshots/ out of context pics here.
Tumblr: Tumblr is our newest feature and we only have a few followers at the moment. We'll reblog pearlshipping posts and follow pearlshipping accounts.

Yes yes we all here are pearl shippers and are kind of against Serena... at the moment. What kind of sets these two shippings apart when they both started is that, of course, Serena has a crush on Ash whilst Dawn was still just getting used to Ash. But the thing is, what is Serena? Dawn right off the bat was a coordinator while, through 20+ episodes we still don't know what Serena is. This could play a key factor in how their friendship, or more, could develop. Ash and Dawn learned from each other from their contest and gym battles(The spin move and counter shield). One more thing is that, though Serena supposedly has a crush on Ash, he barley even talks or notices her,while when DP started Ash and Dawn would bicker at each other like an everyday couple would. What I hope for is that Serena doesn't fall to the sideline like misty,may and iris did. These series were mainly focused on ash if you don't know what I mean.

I agree with you completely! Even until now when they finally added some sort of theme song to XY, still no clues as to what Serena actually is. I watched an XY episode this morning and Bonnie asked her, "So why are you on your journey then?" or something like that. I mean, she isn't even competing to win gym badges, is she?! I couldn't bear to watch anymore of it though after the whole handkerchief giving thing... Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone but I didn't really like that ArmourShipping "hint"...

They really just need Serena to keep the show popular. Serena's crush/cute factor on Ash is a device that can easily hook viewers in so the writers do this. The problem is that this is all they really focus on her besides baking macarons.
I perosonally don't 'hate' on Serena that much though, it's just that there's not much to her. Her development is still shallow right
now, and that's what happens when getting Ash is your main goal.

Like you said about the cute factor and how the writers use this to pull in viewers is completly correct. But that's all Serena is. If they just keep her a nothing people will lose interest. But in OUR case, Dawn had a lot of development right off the start with saving piplup, seeing mesprit and her determination just like ashes, but Serena is a big fat ?
